How to make Pot Pourri

You will need:

Strong scented flowers such as rose, bergamot, geranium, lavender
Fragrant herbs e.g. mint, lemon verbena, oregano, marjoram, thyme, lemon balm
Parchment paper
Cinnamon and nutmeg or scented essential oil
Oris root powder


  1. Pick the flowers leaves in the morning after the dew has evaporated
  2. Lay them out with plenty of room on parchment
  3. Dry them slowly, either in an airing cupboard or using an herb dryer
  4. Remove the stems when fully dry (about 10 days)
  5. Sprinkle with spices or drops of scented oil
  6. Add a little oris root powder – it helps it stay smelly

Leave for 7-10 days before transferring the flowers and leaves to a shallow bowl or gauze bags :)
